CHAPS will again be running a series of Youngstock Evaluations for 2009. Aimed towards breeding stock, colts and fillies only, to act as pointers towards future suitable breeding animals. Open to CHAPS(UK) registered horses and ponies, owners/exhibitors must be CHAPS(UK) showing members.
First Premium: Awarded to 8 marks and above
Second Premium: 7.5 - 7.9999 marks
Third Premium: 7.0 - 7.499 marks
Premium winners are invited to compete in the Evaluations Championship on completion of all sections on the day of Evaluation
Sections:
- Non-native Horse, fillies and colts, exceeding or expected to exceed 153cms at maturity. Yearlings, 2 and 3 year olds
- Native, Cob, Traditional or Vanner, fillies and colts, open height. Yearlings, 2 and 3 year olds
- Non-native pony, fillies and colts, not exceeding or expected to exceed 153cms at maturity. Yearlings, 2 and 3 year olds
Two will take place at the Gradings - 18th April, 2009 (Arena UK, Grantham, and September/October (tba) - contact CHAPS Admin or Mark Shaw for information.
There will also be Youngstock Evaluations held at the following 2009 shows:
South East Regional Show, 3rd May;
Northern Show, 16th May (Sedgefield);
North Wales Borders Regional Show, 7th June;
Midlands Regional Show, 4th July; and
SW Regional Show, 8th August.
Entry forms for the above will be included in the CHAPS Regional Show Schedule, which will be forwarded to all current 2009 members with the Spring World of Colour.
